From the main man himself. Streatham Redskins, Slough Jets and GB Senior Assistant Coach Gary Stefan,
“As someone who has dedicated a lifetime to ice hockey and witnessed the development of the sport in the UK first-hand, I strongly believe that both current and future players deserve greater support and protection throughout their careers. Ice hockey is a fast, physical, and demanding sport that carries significant risks of injury, both immediate and long-term. Too often, players can find themselves facing challenges related to medical care, career management, insurance, welfare, and post-career support without having adequate guidance or representation. The UK Ice Hockey Players Association has a vital role to play in ensuring that players' rights, health, and wellbeing are protected, while also helping to prevent mismanagement that can negatively affect careers and lives. By providing independent support, education, advocacy, and access to professional advice, the Association can help create a safer, fairer, and more sustainable future for everyone involved in the game, ensuring that the players who make the sport possible receive the protection and respect they deserve.”
All the best
